If a Busy file suddenly shows 0 KB, the company is often not empty. The last save may have failed. The good data is often still in another file or an old backup.
A power cut while Busy is saving can do this. A full disk, a broken network share, or antivirus locking the file can also leave Disk1.db, Data.zip, or a SQL file at 0 bytes. Windows then looks empty, even if you worked yesterday. Sometimes only a shortcut is 0 KB, and the real folder is next to it.
We search the data folder, Recycle Bin, previous versions, and any Busy or Windows backup. We use files that are not zero first. If the live file is zero but an older year file is fine, we rebuild the company from those files. We tell you the last safe voucher date. We do not format the disk.
Move the data off a weak disk. Keep at least 10 GB free space. Do not keep the only copy on a USB drive that you remove while Busy is open.
Not always. Zero size often means the last save failed. Older files in the same folder or on another PC may still have the books.

We look for another backup or a non-zero copy. If only the 0 KB file exists, options are limited.
