Busy can lock a company to one hard disk. Then the same folder will not open on another PC. After a new laptop or a new HDD, you may see “Can't Login with current Hard Disk”. We clear this lock for the owner.
Why Busy binds data to a hard disk
HDD bind stops a copied company folder from opening on an unknown PC. This helps against data theft. It becomes a problem when the old disk fails, Windows is installed on a new drive, or you move to a new PC and take only the data folder.
What we do
You send the locked company data plus proof that you own the firm. GST papers, letterhead, and the Busy serial (if you have it) help. We then clear the bind and send a folder that opens on your current disk. We do not unlock data that belongs to someone else. After login, you can choose with your CA whether to bind again on the new PC.
How to avoid this again
Keep an owner login in writing. Take backups you can restore after a PC change. Tell us before you copy a disk if bind is already on. Do not bind data to a USB drive that you may lose.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as Busy software licence?
No. Licence is for the Busy program. HDD bind is for that company data folder. You may need both if you changed the PC.
Can I copy the folder back to the old disk?
Only if that same disk is back. A new drive usually needs this fix.
How soon can you fix it?
Most owner-checked cases finish the same day after we get the data and proof.
