A runtime error (RTE) means Busy cannot read a table or file. We fix the company so you can open the year and continue GST work.
Errors we see most often
RTE 3146 often means a SQL or connection problem. RTE 3159 (“not a valid bookmark”) often means the index is damaged. RTE 5 can come after a bad re-index or a cut file. You may also see a missing file message or an error when a report opens. The same company may open on one PC and fail on another if the data path is wrong.
How we fix the error
We copy the data first. Then we check the path, Busy version, and SQL service. If the index is the problem, we re-index on the copy. If the file is damaged, we repair or restore it, then re-index. We do not use unofficial unlock tools. After the company opens, we check a few reports so the error does not come back on the next voucher.
Why reinstall is not enough
A new Busy install does not fix a damaged company file. If the error is in the data, the same RTE will show again. Fix the file first. Then keep a clean Busy setup.
Frequently asked questions
Can I ignore the error and keep working?
No. More entries can damage more data. Stop work and send us a copy.
Does every RTE need data repair?
No. Some errors are only a wrong path, SQL service, or permission issue. We check those first.
Which Busy versions do you support?
We work on common Busy versions used by shops, traders, and CA offices in India.
